Our 50-Year Legacy
Our founder and namesake, Orville J. DuPree, started this company in 1970. O.J. was a mechanical whiz, and he knew commercial HVAC systems backwards and forwards. He tested every unit on the market so he could recommend the right systems to his customers for their projects.
O.J. was always on the hunt for new technology that would enable his customers to save on energy costs. In the 1980s-90s, he discovered the early soft starters and variable frequency drives for HVAC systems – cutting-edge technology at the time – and he started providing and servicing those for his commercial customers.
His two sons, Gregg and Kevin DuPree, joined the family business in the late 1980s, and they took over running the company years later. Like their father, Gregg and Kevin studied the equipment inside and out. They expanded the business to serve water and wastewater municipalities and many other industries. They helped build O.J. DuPree Company’s strong reputation for in-depth knowledge of energy efficient motor controls and its commitment to superior service.
Our Future
The core values of integrity, excellence and innovation first put into practice by O.J. back in 1970 remain at the center of our business. We are committed to building on the legacy that the DuPree family established.
